Ängsö
ÄNGSÖ IS THE ARCHIPELAGO'S only national park. On the island, a piece of ancient Sweden is preserved, with pastoral pastures and hay meadows - a natural landscape which has developed over many hundreds of years of human toil and cultivation.
On Ängsö there is a network of marked pathways which are easy to hike along. In the summer, the bigger of these are even accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs. And those who seek their own bay to bathe in will certainly find it.
Ängsö is a pure, natural experience - there are no restaurants or shops here, instead a large nature 'store' which always puts on a fantastic display. When the morning boats from Stockholm and Östanå arrive, the supervisors get together and offer a guided tour of the island. Tickets for this are sold on board for 35 kr.
