Norröra
NO OTHER CHILDREN'S PROGRAMME has, generation after generation, made such a deep impression on the public soul as the Saltkråkan series. Tjorven, Farbror Melker and Skrållan can be found in the heart of all Swedes. But there are not many who know where the TV series was recorded, nearly 50 years ago and that the Snickargården can still be found there.
The island is called Norröra and lies near Furusund where Astrid Lindgren spent her summers and wrote the script for the TV series about the children of Saltkråkan. Join us there on one of the Blidösund Company's boats this summer!
With Sjöbris or Sjögull Tuesday-Thursday 28th June - 11th August from Stockholm, Östanå and Furusund to Norröra. Sundays 26th June - 21 August is it even more festive as the s/s Blidösund becomes the Saltkråke boat!
Always onboard when we travel from Furusund is the archipelago guide and entertainer Michael Blum. He guides us through the village, for example to the legendary Snickargården and tells us how the TV series came about. After the guided tour and coffee there's plenty of time for bathing or a nice long walk. On Sundays its the children day on Saltkråkan. There'll be community singing, for children large and small, with Astrid's songs on the Blidösund's aft-deck.
