Svartlöga

SVARTLÖGA IS THE DESTINATION for those who want to go to sea, to the farthest reaches of the outer archipelago. Here awaits rugged cliffs and smooth-washed rocks for bathers and explorers alike. Those who wish to stay here overnight can easily find a camping spot.

Svartlöga was one of the few islands that survived the ravages of the Russians in 1719. The shallows around the island were treacherous and the resident seal-hunters scared off any intruders with their shotguns.

Nowadays, Svartlöga, with its flowering meadows and scented rosebushes is an idyll – far removed from traffic, exhaust fumes and congestion. There isn't even electricity here. In the village with its old boathouse can be found the world's smallest post office and a chapel dating from 1916.

Travel quickly and comfortably to Svartlöga on m/s Sjögull and m/s Sjöbris from Stockholm, Östanå and Furusund.
