Schools
Siarö fort is an exciting island for school children. Here you can play, bathe, take a sauna, paddle canoes, barbecue and, naturally, visit the museum where our guide will show you around around and tell you about the time of the First World War, when the fort was built to defend Stockholm. And the fact that the popular teenage film Kyrkogårdsön was filmed here - the island is actually called Kyrkogårdsön - doesn't make the visit any less exciting!
Daytrips
Siarö fort is an excellent destination for a daytrip by boat from Stockholm, Vaxholm or Östanå ferry station, to the north of Åkersberga. The approximately four hours stay on the island is just right for visiting the museum, where our guide will show you round both outdoors and in the exciting paths and passages in the hill itself. Once outside, it's time for the picnic you brought with you or our school lunch which is served in the youth hostel. Then it's a hop into the sea, for those that dare (maybe a bit cold in the spring) or more discovering of the island on your own.
School trip with overnight stay - your very own adventure island!
Hire the whole of Kyrkogårdsön, complete with Siarö fort! A more exciting and educational school trip would be hard to find. Here you practically have your own house, with 14 rooms and over 40 beds, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with "cinema", bathing, wood-fired sauna at the edge of the beach - and a great big fort! The whole island is an adventure. Nearly everything is included in our package price, which makes it simple and fun to be the parent or teacher responsible for the arrangements:
- Round trip boat transport for all from Strömkajen in Stockholm, Klippudden, Gåshaga, Vaxholm or Östanå ferry station.
- Hire of the whole building, apart from the café during the day, with 14 rooms and over 40 beds for children and adults.

For those classes that wish to, lunch, a simple dinner, a festive dinner or even sausages can be purchased. See our prices below.
Classes whose second day on the island is a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in spring are offered a boat trip to Ängsö national park, which is Sweden's first and the archipelago's only national park. The island lies about 30 minutes north of Siarö fort and the boat there leaves at about 10.30am. On Ängsö there is a guide to supervise. There is also enough time for bathing and your own adventures.
At 1.30pm the boat departs, passing Siarö fort, on the way to Östanå ferry station, Vaxholm and Stockholm. The price for the trip, including the guide is 1 200 kr for the whole group. Those who wish to can order a packed lunch to take with them for 60 kr per person.
