During high summer, 21 June - 19 August, Siarö fort operates as a traditional youth hostel. During the periods 20 April- 20 June and 20 August - 21 October the youth hostel is only open for large, pre-booked group who hire the whole building. Please see "Conference", "Party at the fort" and "School classes".

During the Midsummer weekend, Thursday 21 June, Friday 22 June and Saturday 23 June, the rooms are hired out in two-night packages only.

Youth hostel

The youth hostel is housed in the barracks which were built on the island in 1916. The building of today has been carefully renovated and houses 41 beds, divided amongst two-bed and four-bed rooms, together with one dormitory which contains seven beds. There are twelve rooms on the upper floor. In the two-bed rooms there are two Sultan sprung mattress beds. In the four-bed rooms there are two Sultan sprung mattress beds and a bunk bed.

On the ground floor there is a larger two-bed room with two Sultan sprung mattress beds in addition to our largest room which has three bunk beds and one separate bed. On this floor can also be found our dining room and a lounge which can also be used as a conference room. The youth hostel also has a modern, fully-equipped kitchen.

Breakfast buffet can be ordered the day before. The youth hostel is affiliated to the STF - the Swedish Tourist Association.
